I purchased this Yaesu FTM-400XDR from KW0Z through QRZ back in November 2022 after my Yaesu FTM-400DR met its demise at my own hands.

I received this unit in a (known, as it was sold with this issue) low power on both UHF and VHF. Steve suspected he fried the final and he was right. I transplanted the final RF transistor I had to purchase for the dead FTM-400DR radio into this one and it came back to life. Bonus points that this version of the FTM-400 does NOT have the issue with the GPS and no external receiver is needed. It works well and has been in use in my vehicle since I got it working.
