In July 2025 I bought a second Kenwood TS-50S through eBay (shipped from Japan) because I missed my first Kenwood TS-50S that much. Unlike my first one that came with a "quick mount" that is apparently rare, this one came with a fixed mobile mount.
This unit was in a rougher state than my original TS-50S with some pitting on the metals, scuffs, and missing hardware inside the unit, but nothing I couldn’t solve as I had bought hardware and cables from another eBay seller that had parted one of these to sell for parts.
This rig came with a matching Kenwood AT-50. This unit included the AT-50, a home made cable for the AT-50 to interface with the TS-50S, a fixed mobile mount, and no power cable. Regardless of the condition this unit was treated very well and had no issues whatsoever.
Like the previous one I had, the first thing I changed was the battery with a holder for a CR2030 battery, a TCXO from N3BA was desired, and the diode that limits the TX frequencies to be able to use it on was already removed.
I did go about doing a full recap on this unit immediately since I had a second set of a cap kit I bought for my previous TS-50S. I also bought a DigiRig and some cables for this unit, a connector for the power which I made my own with 12AWG zip cord, and later on a Syncium SO-2 from eBay because after months of waiting I could not locate one from N3BA in over a year prior to this point.
